Mindful Minutes With Musicians Podcast on Youtube

CallOut for Guests

Do you know any musicians or artists who you believe have a really mindful practice or who have been able to create success during this pandemic? I’m looking for guests to continue this great podcast that I started. It can be musicians or artists, as you’ve seen I’ve had all kinds of people and they’ve all provided such different and amazing information and ways of getting through these rough times. If you know of anyone, reach out to me through the contact on the About page, or Follow me on any social media and contact me through there. I hope that you’re enjoying this warm fall weather. Talk with you soon.

Rendering…

I’ve been doing a bunch of odd jobs, well, within my industry. And one of them is video editing for a online streamed festival. I am so happy to be a part of it and its been something that has helped me tremendously throughout the pandemic and it’s even encouraged me to read more. The one part about all of this video editing though, is the rendering time. It is inevitable for a video editor, but it is this time that almost forces you to take a break. If you take a moment, then you will be able to optimise those moments, hence why I’m writing this blog post. I almost want to think of it like its extra time. Time to utilise and be creative. Always use your time to be creative. Knowing that you also are totally able to take time to rest as well. There needs to be balance in life. And that is almost like we need time to render ourselves. Let’s take that time.

I’ve missed you

Hey, I know it’s been a while and I’m not keeping up with posting as often as I should. I did write a post about not pressuring yourself and the creation, but I also believe that if you’re not doing it you’re also missing out. I have met up with Arthur Tutt, of arthurtutt.com, I’ve been working doing online streaming for the Harbourfront centre’s TIFA festival. https://festivalofauthors.ca/ . Thats just a few of the things that I’ve been up to. It’s been a difficult time and I know that there are a lot of people who are having a really rough time right now. I am doing my best to keep my head up and create great content. I am working on a few interviews and have some stuff coming. I hope you stay tuned. I really appreciate you.

Stick with the process

I bet you know, like we all experience, that if we stick to something that it will prevail. If you continue to water a plant then it will grow and then produce flowers. If you continue to write poems, eventually you’ll have a book to publish of your poetry. If you continue to cook, eventually you start creating exciting and creative meals. What I’m getting at here is that whatever it is that your doing, and no matter what happens along the way. The best thing is to carry on and continue to do that thing that you have passion for so that you can allow it to grow and provide for you eventually.

I have had a bit of a rush of other work come up for me and since I’ve been hit so hard in my profession by the pandemic, I’ve been taking all the work I can get. This means that I’ve been putting MMWM to the side, but don’t worry…I’m still booking interviews and I have a couple up my sleeve that are going to be really thoughtful and friendly.

I really appreciate you taking the time to ‘Stick with the process’ along with me. I hope that you’ve watched a few of these episodes of Mindful Minutes With Musicians and found something that you can take from them, as that was the whole point. To Aspire to Inspire, and that goes for all of us. Cheers and thank you.

The pressure to create content

I wanted to touch base on this notion that we HAVE to constantly be creating content. I think that it’s a lot to put onto yourself and it’s not always the most effective way of getting the message out there. We all have our soap box and opportunity to get up and say what we want. And it’s appreciated by everyone who is watching and getting something out it, no matter what it is that they may be getting out of it. The issue is that there has been such an influx of content with the internet giving us absolutely anything we can think of at our fingertips. So, the question is…to be seen do I have to constantly be creating content? In a short answer, yes. But, I think that it is equally, if not MORE important to take time to recharge your own battery so that you are able to go out there and harness the creative juices in a creative way. That’s how you will be able to come to some kind of equilibrium in content creation. If there is even such a thing.

The main thing to remember and take from this, is that you need to be doing stuff for your own internal self. You are not going to be able to find or harness the creativity within yourself if you are already drained. So take that time and don’t give in to the pressure to constantly create content. Cheers

Need Music?

Hey blog readers, and whoever else has come across this. I’m wondering if you or anyone you know is interested in music for their blog or podcasts. I want to be a part of your process and can create custom music. Check out the Awesome Intro Music page and have a listen at the few tracks I have up there. I’m currently in the process of writing new stuff for myself, but can take the time to make some new tracks for you as well.

Monday Motivation

Hey everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Todays motivation is great, from episode 3 with KidKold. “Embrace your creation and harness it when it comes or it will find the next person who is ready for it”

Appreciate The Process

For a while I had wanted to be a part of a radio show or involved in something like that. I took Radio Broadcasting in college and never really got into radio just because of the lack of jobs for on air talent, especially for anyone who was new to the industry. I am also in love with music and the music creation process and wanted to be involved in that as well. I ended up finding a career in the tech side of live entertainment and was able to live out those dreams of being back stage or on the stage at the concerts and festivals. As the pandemic has effected millions around the globe, I too was effected in work. I knew that there had to be something that I could still bring and do even while there was ZERO live events happening.

That’s when I started MINDFUL MINUTES WITH MUSICIANS. the podcast where I was able to take the skills that I had learned years ago in college and apply them to my very own podcast. It has definitely not been an easy process in any stretch of the imagination. There were a lot of ideas that I had and had to focus it down in on something. And mindfulness was that thing that I believed a lot of people want to learn or find out how others are doing it. I too wanted to find out what others were doing during these hard times so that I was able to adapt and make the most of things.

The first few episodes were really what was needed to get this off the ground, and as I got more and more guests and went through the process of what I want to focus on and how I wanted to frame the show. I was able to make subtle changes to refine the show as each episode progressed. I am so appreciative to everyone who has been a part of this process. Along the way there’s been bumps. I’ve missed appointments to record new episodes and I’ve gone through a number of different technical difficulties along the way; cameras dying during the show, music not playing and mispronouncing things. My setup and how it is edited has changed a few times as well.

The main thing that keeps it going is the want to share peoples stories. I think that there are so many things that we learn from each other on a day to day basis that this is another way to harness that. I have had the pleasure to talk to so many different artists who not only play or have an appreciation for music but also have amazing stories and experiences to share. If you have taken the time to read this post, I hope that you take time to go through some of the episodes as there is for sure something in there that is a takeaway. I appreciate you and thank you.

Motivation Mondays

Hey, as I’m writing this I’m realizing that this is such a new thing for me. I should be celebrating this time that I’m giving myself and be excited to share this. I find it difficult to be motivated some days. I feel that during this pandemic there have been a lot of those days. I can only say that self motivation is key and so important to your success. I have started getting up earlier, writing lists for myself to complete. And I feel great crossing those things off the list when I complete them. Writing this post was one of the things on my list and here we go. I Tweeted this morning @Blackmoremedia1 (on twitter) and I wanted to start something fresh and new for #MindfulMinutesWithMusicians and #BlackmoreMedia. But selfishly, it’s really so that I’m able to use this to motivate myself. I hope that you also find motivation in this and let me know if you do.
