Stick with the process

I bet you know, like we all experience, that if we stick to something that it will prevail. If you continue to water a plant then it will grow and then produce flowers. If you continue to write poems, eventually you’ll have a book to publish of your poetry. If you continue to cook, eventually you start creating exciting and creative meals. What I’m getting at here is that whatever it is that your doing, and no matter what happens along the way. The best thing is to carry on and continue to do that thing that you have passion for so that you can allow it to grow and provide for you eventually.

I have had a bit of a rush of other work come up for me and since I’ve been hit so hard in my profession by the pandemic, I’ve been taking all the work I can get. This means that I’ve been putting MMWM to the side, but don’t worry…I’m still booking interviews and I have a couple up my sleeve that are going to be really thoughtful and friendly.

I really appreciate you taking the time to ‘Stick with the process’ along with me. I hope that you’ve watched a few of these episodes of Mindful Minutes With Musicians and found something that you can take from them, as that was the whole point. To Aspire to Inspire, and that goes for all of us. Cheers and thank you.

Motivation Mondays

Hey, as I’m writing this I’m realizing that this is such a new thing for me. I should be celebrating this time that I’m giving myself and be excited to share this. I find it difficult to be motivated some days. I feel that during this pandemic there have been a lot of those days. I can only say that self motivation is key and so important to your success. I have started getting up earlier, writing lists for myself to complete. And I feel great crossing those things off the list when I complete them. Writing this post was one of the things on my list and here we go. I Tweeted this morning @Blackmoremedia1 (on twitter) and I wanted to start something fresh and new for #MindfulMinutesWithMusicians and #BlackmoreMedia. But selfishly, it’s really so that I’m able to use this to motivate myself. I hope that you also find motivation in this and let me know if you do.

It’s difficult to find inspiration sometimes…

I am here, not as a writer or as someone who claims to know anything about mindfulness. I seriously started all of this because I was reaching for strings to find out what to do during a pandemic when my entire industry was halted. That’s a daunting and shocking reality. It was one that hit hard and is still effecting me to this day. I have been lucky enough to have been able to come across some amazing people this year and I have also been able to see the journey of a lot of people. Not everyone is doing OK. Not everyone is living out the lives that they’re showing you on Instagram. Or whatever social media that they’ve chosen. I guess this leads to what I wanted to share, was that it is always going to be a process to find and cultivate those inspirations. And I could be campy and say that you just have to wait for those moments and harness them. But that’s not the truth, sometimes it’s really hard to find inspiration. Sometimes you have to go out there and grab it, or create it. Sometimes it’s best to take that time away to clear your thoughts and come back at it to find that inspiration. I’m not even going to say that I know how to find inspiration. That is a journey for everyone to go through. I know that the one thing that you can always count on and fall back on is your breath. Take a breath. That is the best place to start looking for inspiration and it can only lead you in the right direction.
